Textile Recycling on your Doorstep

Greenwich Council is offering a free textile collection service from April 1, 2010. If you still haven't received the leaflet through your door, you soon will as they are distributing them as we speak. Residents can have bags collected by calling the council's contact centre and making an appointment. All re-usable textiles and shoes will be sent abroad into industrial wipes or for stuffing upholstery.

Materials that residents will be able to recycle include clothing, shoes in pairs, sheets, towels, blankets and curtains. Once your appointment is made for a collection you will be directed to the council's website to download a tag that you can attach to the bags that you place outside.

To arrange a textile collection and for further information email contact-centre@greenwich.gov.uk
